Students read about when Dorothea Lange famously photographed the Migrant Mother during the Depression and answer 5 questions of varying degrees of difficulty. This would be great for a sub, a Women's History Month Activity, or a unit on the Great Depression. An answer key is not included because each question is dependent on student opinion and interpretation.
Sample questions include:
--How do you think this photograph instigated direct government relief to the Migrant Mother’s agricultural camp?
--Decide whether Dorothea Lange or the Migrant mother should be showcased as “Woman of the Day” for Women’s History Month, and explain why.
