March is Women's History Month!

[Research & Technology Connections] Students will create their own Women's History Month Informational Poster using Microsoft Word and Wordle. This project is aligned to the Common Core and can be edited and re-formatted for Black History Month, President's Day, etc. Whether this project is used in an instructional technology class, as a partner-project in a classroom, or as an individual take-home project, students will use their research and creative skills to produce a digital product. Print in color for an eye-catching March bulletin board!

Includes a short list of notable internet resources for students to gather their information (FactMonster, History Channel, etc.) as well as Diverse Learning for Enrichment Students with Choice Project Ideas. Rubric also included along with Student Self-Assessment focus questions.

Common Core Technology Standards addressed:

Standard 2: Information technology is used to retrieve, process, and communicate information and as a tool to enhance learning.

Access, select, collate, and analyze information obtained from a wide range of sources such as research data bases, foundations, organizations, national libraries, and electronic communication networks, including the Internet.

CCSS.ELA-Literacy.W.4.7 Conduct short research projects that build knowledge through investigation of different aspects of a topic.

CCSS.ELA-Literacy.W.4.8 Recall relevant information from experiences or gather relevant information from print and digital sources; take notes and categorize information, and provide a list of sources.
