Product Description

EASY TO PRINT AND GO - WOMEN IN SCIENCE TIMELINE PROJECT - everything you need is included for science students to assemble an Achievements of Female Scientists timeline or bulletin board. Two versions are provided - Version One requires students to research 35 scientists (names and important dates given) and Version Two gives them 35 pre-made biography cards. The only supplies necessary are copier paper, glue and colored pencils.

First students create a timeline by taping or gluing together the provided timeline templates to create a 5½ foot-long timeline. Then, students color code the 35 biography boxes (either student researched or pre-made - your choice) according to the field of science represented by the scientist (biology, medicine, Earth, astronomy, computers, chemistry, or physics). The biography boxes are attached to the timeline, and students enter the appropriate dates. Finally, students add pictures to each of the entries.

What's Included: 35 Biography Boxes for students to complete (for Version One), 35 Pre-Made Scientist Biography Boxes (for Version Two), 35 Scientist Pictures (provided in both color and black and white), printable timeline templates, student instructions and teacher notes.

A variety of scientists from around the world are included with dates ranging from 1200 BCE through today.

This project works well when assigned as paired or group project. As printed (several 8.5"x11" pages), this timeline is about 5½ feet long, so it also makes a great Women's History Month bulletin board. You can enlarge it even further by using the "enlarge/reduce" setting on most copy machines to create an even bigger display.
