Are you looking for an activity to kick off Women's History Month? This word search, which includes 13 famous women from history, is a great way to get your kids thinking about these important people and the role they played in history.
Word searches can be a fun way to get your students talking about these important women during Women's History Month in March, such as discussing their struggles, successes, and events they took part in. Your students will enjoy this fun word search!
In this word search puzzle, words are found forward, backward, up, down, and diagonally. I would consider it on the challenging side since students are looking for words in all directions, and the content may be more suitable for upper elementary. Please see the word list below.
I use word searches to introduce vocabulary, or even just give it as morning work. Maybe have them look up the names or use them in a sentence telling about their accomplishments. Possibly even illustrate some of their accomplishments in their history notebooks. They are also great to glue in writing notebooks for future writing topics. They offer the perfect opportunity to get your kids talking about key names/people in history. They are perfect for early finishers. Great for a sub, too. How about homework as a family activity. Use this "Famous Women in History" word search however you would like in your classroom.
