This product includes a one-page graphic organizer (and answer key) that will help students explore the the creation of the Equal Rights Amendment in the early 1970's, those who supported its ratification and those who opposed it. The lesson will help students gain a better understanding of the National Organization of Women (NOW) and it's founder Betty Friedan and STOP ERA founded by Phyllis Schlafly to oppose the the passage of the ERA.
This assignment can be used in conjunction with a class lecture and discuss or it may be used much like a webquest where students can explore and answer the questions on their own.
