Wonder by R. J. Palacio is one of my favorite read aloud stories for students grades 4-8. The book shows important themes, ideas and life lessons that lend themselves to discussion with your students.
These are the resources that connect with the presentation that I use in my classroom while reading the story aloud to my students. The presentation includes teacher friendly prompts that separates the lessons into 20 minute intervals for a read aloud. I typically have my students sitting at the rug either at the start or end of the ELA period with a notebook to jot down ideas, questions, new vocabulary and their general impressions of the read aloud.
Each lesson includes vocabulary, small group discussion questions, and whole group discussion questions.
Supporting documents include:
Written reflection prompts for students
Character traits page,
A vocabulary in context page
Bookmarks for all of Mr. Browne's precepts.
Common Core State Standards
This book is one of those books that make a lasting impact on not only the students but also the teacher! I hope that you enjoy the book as much as I do and find the resources helpful!
*I didn't use an artist for my presentation or any of the documents so if you are expecting the typical TPT or PInterest art on the product it won't have that. I do feel the presentation and documents holds the same educational value as the other more artistic presentations out there but this is why I priced it lower*
