Wonder Work is a great independent reading activity that can be used as a center activity or as an anchor activity. To complete, students use the website www.wonderopolis.org. At the site, students will be asked a series of “wonder” questions they can answer. Then, they will read (or listen to) an article and watch a short video on the Wonder of the Day. Students can then explore academic vocabulary, take quizzes, look at pictures, and do more research.
This activity guides students through reading the article, answering the “wonder” questions, exploring vocabulary and taking the Word Wonder Challenge and Test Your Knowledge Quiz. It can be used with or without student copies.
This activity is very flexible and students love learning about the amazing Wonders they find at Wonderopolis!
