This product has been created based on the Third Grade Wonders McGraw-Hill program. Exact questions and ideas from the Wonders stories have been taken from the program, and crafted for easy student use. This product is not intended to replace tools within the program. These are supplemental organizers that will help guide teachers with questioning and prepare students for their final weekly assessment and end of year testing. The goal of these organizers is to assist teachers in their teaching of English Language Arts. They provide an opportunity to directly instruct students on how to find evidence in the text and utilize that information to answer questions they are likely to see on their high-stakes exams.
I created this product to help me, the teacher, systematically remember the questions relevant to the Common Core Standard being addressed that week. I wanted to target specific skills that would be tested on that week’s assessment, as well as expose students to skills they are likely to use on their end of year test. These organizers help me pinpoint which students understand the content, and which students need additional assistance with that standard. The Wonders stories are not included with this product as it is not intended for use without the program.
Questions included in the organizers have been selected based on their relevance to the Common Core standards addressed in that specific week. Question have been altered slightly from the Wonders program, so that students can practice specific skills found on their weekly and end of year assessments. I hope this product provides you with a simple, clear, and consistent way of teaching the broad standards in English Language Arts! Good luck!
