PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Are you struggling to manage a few of your students’ behaviors? Are you looking for a way to help your students stay motivated to remain on task, complete their work, or listen and follow directions? These individualized behavior charts have been used with GREAT SUCCESS in my kindergarten classroom for 6 years! The key to this resource’s effectiveness is that it gives your students a CHOICE, which is very motivational and powerful! Students will be extremely excited each day to select which reward they will work toward! Read on to learn how to implement this resource!

What you will receive:
-Four different types of behavior charts (computer reward, tablet reward, treasure box reward, and reward of your choice)
-Each type of chart comes in four different designs (raccoons and bears, owls and bunnies, fish, stars) (10 characters on every chart)
-Color and black and white versions of all charts are included

How it works:
Print off multiple copies of each type of reward chart. You will need to cut the pages in half to create individual charts. I would suggest starting with just the raccoons and bears with all four types of rewards, or just the fish with all four types of rewards, etc.
Call your struggling student up to your desk in the morning. Show the student each type of chart and ask them to pick the reward that they would like to work toward. Explain that each time you see the student demonstrating the desired behavior throughout the school day, you will circle a character, place a star beneath, place a check mark beneath, place a sticker beneath, etc. (whichever method is easiest for you). When all 10 characters are earned, the student will receive the reward that is pictured on the chart!

I keep these behavior charts on the students’ desks as a visual cue and reminder for them regarding how many characters they have left to earn and what reward they are working for. In my experience I have had success dividing up the characters to match chunks of my day (for example, one character might be for morning meeting time, the next for phonics, then for centers, etc.) By the end of the day most students are able to earn all 10 and can have their reward before going home. To make this more manageable for some students, you could also break the chart down and give them the reward once they get 5 characters and then again at 10. I have also had great success with this system when informing parents of it and sending the charts home so parents can follow up with additional rewards. You could also choose to keep the charts for data/evidence or make them into a book. I hope you find this product helpful in managing your classroom behaviors!!!
