This emergent woodland animal reader includes seven animals:
fox, beaver, squirrel, raccoon, robin, owl, and rabbit. The colored graphics reproduce fine in grayscale.
I included the animals on cards with their names so that they could be introduced before the reading of the book. The way I used these cards with my students was to copy them on colored paper. I then had them cut a set for themselves and put them in a specially decorated forest-themed paper bag. You could have heard a pin drop in my room when the kids did this. You would have thought I had given them treats to eat!
I also included a stationary page for writing about a favorite animal or other related sentence activity. The book has nine pages including the title page.
