This is a great note taking lesson to teach about animals in woodland habitats. Research question boxes are: Basic Facts, Habitat, Food, Life Cycle, and Fun Facts.
Animal note taking sheets include:
A blank note taking page for customization
An woodland habitat note taking sheet is also provided. This can be used as a sample activity to introduce your students to research and the woodland environment.
Students can be assigned different animals to research or each animal can be studied in a whole group setting if preferred.
Students should use PebbleGo, online encyclopedias, ebooks or regular books to find the answers to the research boxes. A source box is also included for students to indicate the type and title of the source used.
This lesson relates to the following science standards:
NGSS - LS4.C: Adaptation
2-LS4-1.Make observations of plants and animals to compare the diversity of life in different habitats.
3-LS4-3. Construct an argument with evidence that in a particular habitat some organisms can survive well, some survive less well, and some cannot survive at all.
