PowerPoint contains 68 slides. On each slide the letters appear, one at a time, from left to right, in different colors, enabling students to practice open and closed syllables, and silent e words in a challenging format. Students read each phoneme, as it appears, thus changing the way the syllable is read. Some words have silent e added to the end of a word, changing the short vowel word to a long vowel sound. This practice strengthens decoding skills.
Several slides contain an audio to explain how students say the sounds as the letters appear. Digraphs appear at the same time and in the same color since they are one phoneme. Other letters also appear together (example: ll and ck) since they are one phoneme.
