• Basic grammar concepts of subject, verb, time phrase (i.e. adverbial phrase)
• Subject-verb agreement
• Regular simple past tense
• Early reading skills
• Expanding utterances
This is a deceptively simple game, that motivates students to pay attention to the elements used to put together a grammatically correct sentence. They need a subject (who is the sentence about?); they need a verb (what is that subject doing?); and they can use a time phrase (when did the subject do it?) to indicate whether or not the verb should be in the present for the past tense.
