Build words by having students, color, cut and change the letters as you either give them a word or a sound.
For example: Have students place their cut out letters in front of them. Then give each student a piece of felt to use as their place mat for their new words.
Tell the students to place the letter that makes the /m/ sound, /a/ sound, /t/ sound. then ask them what word they built. :)
Have students take away the /a/ sound and exchange it for the /i/ sound. Now what word did you build?
Perfect. Use the template to create your own letters to develop lessons for all phonetic sounds and words.
