This activity analyzes Rudyard Kipling's word choice in describing the setting, bungalow, and garden in his short story, Rikki-Tikki-Tavi. Students are asked to highlight key words in three different sections and explain their importance in describing the setting. Why did Kipling choose those words?
Putting it into practice allows the students to draw their vision of the bungalow and garden based on the descriptions given in Kipling's word choice.
Answer Key is provided with discussion questions to help the students with their explanations.
