Word Decoding Worksheets for Centers or Assessment Activities
I prepared these worksheets for my students to practice their word decoding skills and as a practice for their end of the year reading test.
Here are some ways to use these worksheets:
1. Use them during center time activity. You can copy the sheets back to back for easier use. The sheets get progressing harder so be aware of what you are copying making sure you have already taught that sound or combinations of sounds. You could also have the answer key at the center so students could check their own work.
2. Use them as an assessment to check if you students know a certain sound or combination of sounds. I have found the bubble-in worksheets were a lot easier for students so you could do a combination of both when doing your assessments.
3. Make a practice booklet for students. I did this before our big end of the year reading test so they were familiar with what they were expected to do. I have included a cover to use for the booklet if you choose this path.
I hope you and your students enjoy these worksheets.
