I have been using this in my 3rd grade classroom, to help work on both our dictionary and vocabulary skills. Each student is given a word, and then uses the dictionary first to find the definition. Then they find the same word in the glossary of our text book. I use this to help them realize that just because the dictionary give you more than one meaning, it doesn't mean the first one you choose is always correct. It is important to see which word fits best in the story. It finished with them writing a sentences using the glossary definition and drawing a picture.
