Knowledge of word families helps the child to gain reading fluency and to learn common spellings. These word family cards are a fun twist on the typical word list or worksheet. The child moves word-endings along a column of beginning sounds to create words for reading. Cards feature digraphs (e.g., ck, sh) and "phonograms" (e.g., aw, silent-e). Cards are color-coded so that the word-endings are easily matched to the master card.
This printable set includes 47 cards with words ending in:
at, it, og, ad, an, ug, ed, ump, ack, ick, ock, y, ight, ar, aw, ay, ash, ore, ine, ide, ate, ale, ail, eat, ain
Print on card stock, laminate, and use a paper cutter to neatly separate the individual cards.
