Hands-on manipulation of letter and picture cards for forming the above "families" is a super fun way for students to practice making and reading words! Blends are included in the words.

A picture identification sheet is included to help identify pictures for students.

Great for independent center activities, small group instruction, Guided Reading instruction, RTI or partner work.

* Response Sheets are included for students to write the words they make
* The letter and picture cards are color coded for easy organization and clean up.
* Cards are provided in color and black and white for your printing preference

* Flap book pages for students to choose pictures to cut and glue under the correct family
* Color a Family Students color different "family" pictures a certain color
* Make a word Students are given a picture and the first part of the word. They then have to fill in the correct word family and then write the word.

1.2.b. Orally produce single-syllable words by blending sounds (phonemes), including consonant blends.
