Teaching young readers to decode words from common word families is crucial for kindergarten and first grade classrooms; these 12 books will help students learn to read these words, while practicing other emerging reading skills!**For each word family, these things are included**
Inside the bundle, there are 12 different packets, each focusing on a different word family!! There are books for each of the following word families:
am, an, ap, at,
en, et, in, it,
og, op, ot, and ug
**an emergent reader focusing on the word family. The text is not predictable, so that students are required to use their sight word knowledge to read the text.
**an optional last page of the emergent reader on which the students will write three words from the word family.
** two practice pages; on the first page, students sound out 5 words from the word family to write the words in sound boxes. on the second page, the sound boxes are removed; students write the 5 words and then choose one word to use in a sentence.
**Pocket chart cards with pictures, letters, and words are also included to use as a whole group word building activity and/or a center activity.
If you would like to see a sample packet, just check out the preview, which shows the -an word family book and pocket chart cards
These books include the same text on both the top and bottom of each sheet of paper to make copying, sorting, stapling, and cutting easy to create a class set of little books!!
