Having fun with word families! These flipbooks are easy to assemble and a fun take home for students!
Directions: Cut out the letters. Cut out the word family boxes. Place the letters over the blank area in the word family boxes. You can choose which letters to use. These are perfect for creating real words OR nonsense words for phonics practice.
• Give each student their own set of alphabet letters. Have them explore the letters and try to create their own words.
• Give each student their own set of alphabet letters. Give them a word and have them attempt to find the letter. For example: Students have the “at” box in front of them. Teacher asks, “Help me make the word “bat.” Which letter should we choose?”
Preselect the letter boxes to create real words. Place them on top of each other and staple the side to create a flipbook for students to use at home or independently.
