Word Families are a great way for children to build their sight vocabularies and to gain the skills and confidence needed to decode more difficult letter combinations. The __at and the __ot roots allow students to build familiar words that are suddenly easy to read once they see the pattern. The repetition found in these TWO worksheets will lead to the mastery of these and other word families as they are presented. The format lends itself to independent student work as they learn the patterns and practice reading fluency and reading comprehension.
