Description
Create the perfect portable sound word wall for your emerging readers with this Word Family Word Wall Bundle! This is not your traditional A to Z word wall. This set groups words into 22 short vowel (a,e,i,o,u) word families. Your students will actually be able to decode the 264 closed syllable words on their own!
Here's what is included in this bundle:
- 22 Word Family Circle Headers for all short vowels with color neon/ rainbow border (If you do not have space for the circle headers, a card with the word family is included that you can place on the front of the word family ring.)
- 264 Decodable / Closed Syllable Short Vowel Sound Cards (prints 4 to a page and may also be used for flash cards, center games, and more) with color neon/ rainbow border
- 2 Neon/ Rainbow Banners that read "WRITING CENTER" or "WORD WALL" in the capital letter font style shown in preview. Two sizes are included for full page banner pennants or half-page.
- Rainbow/ Neon borders (prints 3 per page) to use with your Writing Center or Word Wall if you wish!
- Blank templates for cards and circles (PLEASE NOTE: This file is NOT EDITABLE in order to protect my copyrighted images. You may write on black templates or print onto clear labels and attach, but you are not able to type into blank templates)

- PRODUCT UPDATE as of January 2020 - An update file has been added that includes the same words on smaller cards. Print 6 words per page. This option is perfect for a portable word wall. I use the larger cards as task cards and the smaller ones for my word wall!

My kindergarten students prefer this word wall over the A to Z style because they can actually read the words! I chose to create a writing center with this word wall hung at the bottom of my bulletin board. The kids can easily reach and return the sets. We use these words for Write the Room activities, Work on Reading Centers, and sentence writing. You can even print copies of the words and send home as flash cards. The possibilities are endless!
