Save 50% and buy all long vowel Word Family PowerPoints in this mega bundle! PowerPoints in this bundle are also available individually.

Here’s a great activity for reading and phonics instruction for Kindergarten, First Grade, or Second Grade. Word families use onset and rime (beginning consonants and word bases) to help young readers apply knowledge of phoneme-grapheme correspondence to sound out words. Use the power of PowerPoint to take advantage of the timed animation features to make the letters appear automatically to support students in sounding out words. All five long vowel sounds are covered in this set of five twenty one presentations (five each for a, e, i, o; one for u).
This is perfect for use with a Smart Board, Activboard, or other interactive whiteboard. It can be used without that technology as long as you have PowerPoint and a computer.

Each PowerPoint presentation in this bundle focuses on a single word family and includes the following words:

_ake: bake, cake, fake, Jake, lake, make, rake, take, wake, brake
_ay: bay, day, hay, jay, lay, may, pay, ray, say, way
_ame: came, game, lame, name, same, tame, blame, flame, frame, shame

Each of the five PowerPoint presentations contains 19-21 slides. Slide 2 emphasizes auditory practice of phonics with the recognition of rhyming words using pictures. Slides 3 and 4 connect phonemes with corresponding graphemes for the word family. Slides 6 to 15 give practice with applying knowledge of phoneme-grapheme correspondence to sound out words using timed animation for support. Slides 16 and 17 give practice sounding out words without the support of the timed animation. The remaining slides include the title, directions, and teacher notes. A different colored striped background is used to help distinguish each presentation. The font for all presentations is Century Gothic in blue.

The preview download is PowerPoint with SAMPLE SLIDES from DIFFERENT presentations. It will give you an idea of the animations that are included in every Word Family PowerPoint. Each of the PowerPoints that you purchase will focus only on one word family as indicated in the title.
