Get your students segmenting words into onsets and rimes, identifying word families, and focusing on the ending sounds in words using these short vowel word family sorts. Students will match picture cards with "chunks" of words. Each sorting mat has the correct number of spaces in each column so students can check their work before gluing. Use them to reinforce spelling patterns, during literacy centers, for RTI, or for homework.
