Cut out a set of letters for each student. Laminate if preferred.
Cut on the line of the word family “3 box” page. Laminate if preferred for multiple uses, but I like to send each of the sheets home for additional practice!
Teach the target word family.
Students color the picture page.
Students “try out” different letter cards in the blank box on the “3 box” page. Students make the sounds of each of letter (or sounds for onset/rhyme) and blend the sounds to decide if they have read a “real word” or a nonsense word. The student writes the “real words” on the “I Can Write” page!
Students have really enjoyed this activity! Have FUN!
