There are a TON of word parts. This slide show covers around 55 of those I feel are particularly common/useful. Of course, you can remove the words I chose and insert your own, or simply add more to this presentation.
As I play the PowerPoint, I have students write down the word part (re), the meaning (again), and 2-4 example words (revisit, revise, redact).
All the word parts in the PowerPoint, as well as their meanings and example words, AND, the worksheet for students to fill out (mentioned above) are available on Teacherspayteachers. This document is called "Prefixes, Roots, Suffixes Handout/Form". I made it to go with this PowerPoint.
However - the last five pages of the PowerPoint have all the word parts, their meanings, and example words. But it is small font, you'll have to cut & pasted and mess with formatting. If I knew a way to attach a document to a PowerPoint I'd do it. I suggest you just buy the "Prefixes, Roots, Suffixes Handout/Form". It is $3.
This is a really valuable test prep unit, I've found!! Give students the ability to make 'smart guesses' when they don't have an answer.
