There are 50 cute animal and nature themed templates for students to use to print words from around the classroom. As a Kindergarten teacher, I am always looking for ways for my students to further develop fine motor skills required for printing, as well as opportunities for them to practice letter formation. My students do not enjoy printing activities that require them to stay seated for any length of time, but love to wander around the room with a pencil copying sight words or other words from the classroom environment.
- I have students copy a word from our Dolch noun word wall that has the nouns accompanied by an image to allow students to know what their word is. This then becomes their ticket in the door and must be completed before they join me at the carpet area.
- Staple multiple copies of each framed writing area together to form a booklet. Students can then review words that they print in it.
- Name practice sheets for those students who need practice.
A fun way for students to work on learning words, correct letter formation, print directionality, and learning to recognize words.
This can be used in combination with the Dolch Noun Word Wall cards also found in my store.
