Are your students prepared for the word problems they will see in daily work and state tests? By making it a part of your daily routine to include word problems, you can help students get ready and feel comfortable tackling what is often one of the most difficult math skills to master.
These word problems are intended to meet CCSS 1.OA.A.1 and MN Standard 1.1.2. They are also a great beginning of the year review of word problems for grades 2 and 3 (I use them to introduce CUBES with my 3rd graders)!
Included are 4 weeks of word problems:
5 addition word problems with 2 addends
5 subtraction word problems with 2 subtrahends
5 addition word problems with 3 addends
5 addition word problems with 3 subtrahends
Questions include situations of adding to, taking from, putting together, taking apart, and comparing.
Suggested uses: daily math warm-up, math centers, daily homework, early finisher activity.
