Math Facts Matter Word Problem Cards are designed for use with the blank backside of the Math Facts Matter Game Boards. The Word Problem Cards are aligned to the Math Facts Matter levels. They are the perfect challenge for students needing practice of targeted facts.

Fact fluency is a prerequisite step to computational fluency; however, computational fluency is your objective. Once students have the fact in place within long-term memory with some fast fact recall, then you may want to add the Word Problem cards to increase problem solving skills.

Initially, you will want to add Word Problem cards of known facts; therefore, some teachers use the Word Problem cards from the previous level. To bring computational fluency to its full potential, you will want to include cards from different operations. i.e. addition and subtraction This helps the student easily maneuver the number line going backward as fluently as forward.
