Do your students struggle to start when it comes to math word problems? Mine did! This strategy has helped my students to organize the problem by writing down important information, determine the operation by drawing it out, proving their model through computation, then finishing with a strong sentence that answers the problem. It also promotes number sense by having students model operations.
We use this with all sorts of story problems including: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, measurement, and the list goes on and on!
A whole sheet grid is included, as well as a half sheet in order to save some trees.
Let me know what you think! Thanks :)
