Description

Do your first grade students need more practice developing their problem-solving skills? These low-prep task cards relate grade one math concepts - addition and subtraction within 20 - to the real world with word problems. Worksheets are also included for students to record their answers, and model writing complete sentences for a response.

Use these cards as a math center, for early finishers, or whole group activity! With a combination of addition and subtraction, your students will be encouraged to carefully read through each word problem, and not just recognize a pattern with the answers.
