The first step to solving word problems is to read and understand the question. This resource provides guided practice in deciding whether to add or subtract. An anchor chart is included to assist students in their thinking. Simply print, cut and laminate. Put cards in random order. Use as math center, classroom carousel, etc. To differentiate, allow more advanced students to solve the equations or create multiple equations. Note that many questions have been written to correlate with 2nd and 3rd grade science and social studies content. An answer key is included.
