Product Description
This is my Fall packet from my Word Problem a Day series for second grade students. This packet contains 40 Fall Word Problem task cards (in both color and black & white), student versions (to be used with an interactive math journal), student recording sheet and answer key. Each word problem is labeled with the Common Core State Standard that it covers. There are several ways that these daily word problems can be used in the classroom:

Version 1: Project the PDF version of task cards on an interactive white board and have students complete their work on the recording sheet or in a math journal.
Version 2: Print out task cards, laminate, hole punch and put on a binder ring. Read the daily problems out loud to students and have them complete their work on the recording sheet or in a math journal.
Version 3: Provide students with their own version of the word problem to glue into and complete in their interactive math journal.

The specific standards covered in this packet include:

1.OA.1 - Use addition and subtraction within 20 to solve word problems.
1.OA.2 - Solve word problems that call for addition of three whole numbers whose sum is less than or equal to 20.
1.NBT.4 - Add within 100, including adding a two-digit number and a one-digit number, and adding a two-digit number and a multiple of 10.
1.NBT.5 - Given a two-digit number, mentally find 10 more or 10 less than the number.
1.NBT.6 - Subtract multiples of 10 in the range 10-90 from multiples of 10 in the range 10-90.
2.OA.1 - use addition and subtraction within 100 to solve one- and two-step word problems.
2.OA.2 - Fluently add and subtract within 20 using mental strategies.
2.OA.3 - Determine whether a group of objects (up to 20) has an pod or even number of members.
2.NBT.3 - Read and write numbers to 1000 using base-ten numerals, number names, and expanded form.
2.NBT.8 - Mentally add 10 or 100 to a given number 100-900, and mentally subtract 10 or 100 from a given number 100-900.
2.MD.7 - Tell and write time from analog and digital clocks to the nearest five minutes, using a.m. and p.m.
2.MD.8 - Solve word problems using involving dollar bills, quarters, dimes, nickels and pennies.

**As this packet is meant for use in the Fall, the word problems begin the transition to the second grade common core state standards**
