Product Description
Multi-step word problems about the 2013 World Series, including run, hit, error, and attendance totals, and scenarios where students calculate cost of tickets and food. Almost every calculation in these problems is whole-number.

Problems are sequenced so students use calculations in earlier problems as information needed for later problems.

Calculator use is an option, but the necessary calculations are not onerous and have been good practice for 4th and 5th graders.

Common Core Standards:

whole-number answers using the four operations, including

algorithm.”
5.NBT.5: “Fluently multiply multi-digit whole numbers using the standard
