This is a Word Root Domino game that would work well as a center, part of a Daily Five word work station, or just used as independent practice (including prefixes and suffixes). First, print and laminate the word root cards. (I've also printed them onto sticker paper and placed them onto foam cards.) Students need to match the word root with its meaning by placing the ends of the cards together as in dominoes. If they match all of the meanings correctly, the cards should form a rectangle where the last card matches with the first card.
Each card also contains 4 word examples to help students figure out the meanings. This is helpful to place the word root in context.
The final page is simply a label for the activity. I've placed the cards in mini Tupperware containers and attached the label to the cover. You could also place the cards in a Ziploc baggie and attach the label to the outside of the bag.
