A word search activity containing vocabulary on common greeting expressions. It took approximately 2 hours to create and format.
Each square contains a ROMAJI syllable, rather than a single letter. The activity emphasises learning Japanese words as series of syllabic sounds, rather than as spelling letters as in European languages.
Words go in every direction. Forming words from syllables rather than letters makes this slightly more challenging than a standard word search.
Suitable for Japanese beginners. The target group is upper primary to junior high school students.
