Are you looking for an activity that will encourage students to learn more about words? This activity is a great way to expand students' knowledge of interesting words. This activity would also make a great addition to a Literacy Work Station!
Place each of the Word Graphic Organizers in a protective sleeve and then place them in a binder. Students should choose one activity and then use a word book of the teacher’s choice to learn more about a word. The students can use dry-erase markers to write on the sleeve allowing the pages to be reused each time you switch groups for stations.
I STRONGLY recommend the books called Amazing Word Power for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade! They are great for diving deeper into understanding a word better. They give examples, antonyms, synonyms, sentences... etc. You can easily purchase these books from Amazon.
