This file contains a Common Core aligned word work/word study and phonemic awareness set of lesson plans and word building mat (or cards) for the -op, -ot and -og word families. It also includes a follow up worksheet for practice with writing words in these word families.
The onset-rime lesson involves listening and responding, building, reading and writing words in these families. RF.K.2d
There is a page of phonemic awareness drills that uses the words in these families including:
Initial Sound Substitutions RF.K.2f

Plan may be followed sequentially for a nicely structured lesson or in parts to meet your needs.
These is also a writing extension.
Lessons may be done in pieces or as full lesson. Great for word work with Guided Reading lessons as well as small group/individual lessons.
Work mat may also be used for a literacy center. Learners build words and record them.
Work mat may be cut into cards to use with fewer word families at a time.
I have listings for this set for all short vowel families. Long vowels coming soon!
