This unit is all about maintenance. It could be summarized as the “best hits” of the first 6 units of the word study workshop- with the teaching point ramped up a little bit.
You will remind your students about paying attention to the words in our world, writing the write way, tips and tricks for spelling, and improving their visual memories.
By the time this unit rolls around, the students are all very independent with the word pattern activities but they have a TON of new games that they have just created in the last unit. All of the “newness” can be overwhelming, so it’s great to revisit and beef up with most impactful lessons from earlier units.
