This word wall game can be used as a whole group activity once you have started adding words to your wall. This could also be used as a literacy center if you have students/adults in the room who can read the word clues.
The every word has a clue and the clues use vocabulary such as: vowel, consonant, opposite, position word, twin letters, action word, rhyme, letters, sounds etc.
Words used and those on the word wall are as follows:
: a all am an and are at big but by can come did do down for get go going got had has have he here him his I in is it if like look me my no not on of off or play put said saw see she so that the they this to up was we went what when will with you
This can also be used in an intervention group with students reading below grade level in first or second group.
This product comes with a mini word wall that you can print and laminate and give to your students to not only have as a reference when they are writing but to also use for this word wall game. The words on the word wall are typical found in leveled books from A-D (Fountas & Pinell). It would be most appropriate in a kindergarten room or early first grade at the beginning of the year. You could start your first grade word wall with these words already up on the first day of school.
You give the clues and they locate it on your word wall or own their own.
I would print the clues on cardstock, laminate and hole punch the cards and put them on a ring.
You can edit the word wall to add in your own words and then create your own clues on the editable version of the clues as well. You can’t miss!!
