These COLORFUL and CLEAR cards are to label the top of your word wall sections! Simple font on writing lines helps students directly translate them into writing.
ALL letter headings are accompanied by BEGINNING SOUND PICTURES (with the exception of X, which has the ending sound of 6), to best help young students learn and associate letters, names, and sounds.
The VOWELS have a light yellow background behind the letter, as can be seen in the preview image on Aa, to help students quickly identify them.
The letters A, C, E, G, I, O and U all have two pictures. This is either to represent the long and the short vowel sound (apron and apple) or the hard and soft consonant sound (cat and circle). I recommend reviewing these words with your kids to ensure they understand the two unique sounds.
I have also included two templates with this packet, one with two white headers (2 consonant pages) and one with 1 white and 1 yellow header (1 consonant and 1 vowel). These are in Pages format and you are more than welcome to use them to design pages that better suit your class’ needs.
ENJOY & happy word wall creating to you!
