I love using a word wall to accompany my vocabulary instruction. I’ve experimented with a variety of word walls, and currently I have two sided word cards that I display in pockets and the students use them during stations. Since I change them out every unit, that means that only the words we’re currently studying are actually hanging on the wall. Which is where the word wall notebooks come in.
I have my students record the words and definitions in their notebooks whenever we learn a new word. Then, while the display rotates through different words, the students always have access to all the words we’ve learned so far. Whenever a student can’t remember a word or needs a definition for a station activity, I refer them to their very own notebook as a resource.
This product includes over 60 cover options, vocab and word collection pages, both lettered and unlettered, instructions for printing, and examples of how I've used these books in my classroom.
