This is a colorful, engaging way to teach word wall words! All I do is shine the words up on the interactive whiteboard and we practice. Here is how we do it:
1. I say the word and my students repeat it.
2. They clap as they spell each letter in the word; ending with the whole word.
3. My students write the word on their word wall paper.
4. We choose a card and act out the words (see my word wall activity cards).
We repeat those four steps every day and then place the words on the word wall on Friday.
I have purposely placed each set of weekly word wall words on seperate colors in this unit. The colors are different so that it helps the students memorize the words by color. I have typed, printed out and backed the word wall words on that same colored paper, so when they look up at the word wall and are trying to find a word that they know is up there, they know which color to look for when they are finding that word.
THESE ARE EDITABLE!! Don’t like the background color or want to incorporate other spelling patterns? You can edit these templates quickly and easily! Five pages of directions on how to change the background color, locked and unlocked text, the font, size and color of the text and how to group and lock text are all included with this product.
DISCLAIMER: These were created with Starboard software (.yar files) for use on a Starboard Interactive Whiteboard. They will not open using SMARTBoard software (.notebook files). TpT does not recognize .yar files, so I apologize for not having a preview. I tried to include as many thumbnails as possible as the alternative. :)
