Having a list of vocabluary words within students' sight helps them express their ideas better, but traditional word walls just don't work in the music room. Here is my solution: instead of organizing vocab words alphabetically, my word wall is color-coded and organized by musical element. All of the words relating to rhythm are red, melody are blue, harmony are green, expression are orange, form are purple, movement are yellow, timbre are brown, and performing are pink. Just cut the words apart and staple to your bulletin board for an instant colorful word wall!
This set includes:
- 13 pages of just over 100 color-coded music vocabulary words.
- 8 heading cards in a bold and underlined font: rhythm, melody, harmony, form, expression, timbre, movement, and performance. These cards are each a different color so that the vocabulary words can be easily organized.
- A page of blanks that you can use to include more words.
- A master list of all 100+ words and which category they fall under. (The preview file shows this master list.)
