These different word work activities can be used with any spelling words! I have seen a huge increase in my students' spelling abilities since creating this resource. In my classroom, I use one of these sheets as one of our "Daily 5" activities, and my kids LOVE them!
Rainbow Write - Students choose a different colored marker for each arch of the rainbow and write one word back to back in the same color.
Five Ways - Students will use a pencil, pen, colored pencil, crayon, and marker to write their words. Write the same word in each medium, and choose a different word next!
Magical Words - Have students write each spelling word with a white crayon, and color on top of it with a marker to watch the words appear!
Colorful Roll and Write - Students will need a dice and either markers, crayons, or colored pencils. Depending which number they roll, they will write their word in that color.
Fancy Frames - Students can use fun pens to write their words as fancy as they can!
Decorate It - Students write their word normally, and then decorate their word in the next box. Add flowers, swirls, etc!
Scrabble Spelling - Like Scrabble, students will figure out the sum totals of their words. Not only will they practice their spelling, but they'll get some math skill practice in there, too!
Spelling Spirals - Students will write their words along each spiral and fill them all the way up.
Spelling Graphing - Students will write their spelling words in each spot in the spinner and along the bottom of the graph. Using a paper clip and a pencil, they will spin and land on a word. Whichever word they land on, they color in one of the boxes on the graph!
