This unit includes over five center activities to help teach important vocabulary from the timeless chapter book, How to Eat Fried Worms.
- Making Words (2-9+ letter words)
- Word Search (uses most of the vocabulary words)
- Parts of Speech Sort (sorting 36 vocabulary words into nouns, verbs, or adjectives)
- ABC Order (organizing 36 vocabulary words into alphabetical order)
- Syllable Sort (sorting 36 vocabulary words into 1-3 syllables)
- Publishing Paper (for centers who finish early, included paper can be used to use the word(s) in a story, poem, summary, reflection, etc.)
- 36 vocabulary word cards from the entire book
Great to practice a wide range of word work as well as focus on important vocabulary from this wonderful story.
**Note: The words are from the entire book and not separated by chapters. This would be a great cumulative activity or a way to introduce the words as they appear in the book.
This unit addresses the following 3rd Grade Common Core State Standards:
