This is a word work literacy center that doubles as a math center! Students will use any given word list to find the coin value of each of their words. There are six versions with different coins per version. Thus, you can change this center to meet the needs of your students or to differentiate your center.
In my classroom, this is part of our literacy center rotation and is
completed once a week. Just one of the many things my students work on while I work with Guided Reading Groups. I leave the visual in the center and the students bring their words to the center. Students fill out the given center sheet to complete the center. The set includes six center sheets to match each center.
Coins are grouped as follows:
Page 1 and 2— Nickle and Penny Center and Center Sheet
Page 3 and 4—Dime and Penny Center and Center Sheet
Page 5 and 6—Quarter and Penny Center and Center Sheet
Page 7 and 8—Nickle and Dime Center and Center Sheet
Page 8 and 9—Nickle, Dime, and Penny Center and Center Sheet
Page 10 and 11—Nickle, Dime, Penny, and Quarter Center and Center Sheet
