This document is a student instruction sheet to leave in your Daily 5 Word Work tub or center. The instructions inform students of what to do with their word work words, as well as offers them extension ideas and new things to try with their words. (write the vowels in the same color, write the digraphs in the same color, etc.) This sheet can be printed on colored paper and laminated and left in the tub for any student, at any level to use. Students can have different words they are working with for this center and still can benefit from the instruction sheet.
I use this sheet in my own center for Daily 5. Included in my tub are twistable crayons, neon markers, metallic markers, swirled colored pencils, twistable colored pencils, glitter crayons, and plain notebook paper. My students all have a word list they keep in their book box for the week of words they are working on. Some students have spelling words, some students have high frequency words, some students have vocabulary words. No matter what level the students are working at, they all use the same instruction sheet. This is one of the most popular tubs during Word Work!
