This ActivInspire flipchart will allow children to independently work in their Word Work center with a focus on short vowel word families. The flipchart begins with the children connecting single letters with vowels to form words. It leads into them connecting blends & diagraphs with vowels to form words. This allows you to use this flipchart over several days as the children grow with their short vowel sounds.
The pages include an opportunity for the children to check on their work without a teacher. Remember, you are probably reading with a child or a small group while they are working. :) In addition, the children can travel easily by themselves from skill to skill. If a child is absent, you can always print out the pages and send them home to complete. Check out the preview to receive a better knowledge of what this flipchart can offer your Word Work center!
The flipchart also has notes for each page so the objectives are clear.
**You need to have the software ActivInspire installed to open and use this flipchart. However, once you have the software, you do not need to have an ActivBoard to use the lesson in your classroom. A projector connected to your computer will work too! However, it will turn this into a teacher lead lesson...unless your student are pretty fluent with using your computer. A free personal edition of ActivInspire is available. Go to www.thehelpingbridge.com under interactive whiteboard and it will lead you to the way!
